DL Tennis Warrington Club Official Club Rules

1. Name and Objectives

1.1 For the purposes of WDLTA the Club shall be called "David Lloyd Warrington”

1.2 DL Tennis Warrington ’The Club’ is a club within David Lloyd Leisure which plays in the Warrington and District Lawn Tennis Association competitions. It receives no support from David Lloyd Leisure apart from the use of its logo and facilities. The tennis team players are all full racquets members.


2. Code of Conduct


2.1 No member of ‘The Club’ shall act irresponsibly during club activity, nor shall any individual member or members of ‘The Club’ bring ‘The Club’ into disrepute. Any such act shall be dealt with appropriately by The Committee.

2.2 When representing ‘The Club’ in a sports fixture, all team members shall compete in a manner of good sportsmanship, regardless of the nature of the competition and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

2.3 Where necessary and appropriate, ‘The Club’ members shall purchase their own insurance and transport for away fixtures.

2.4 David Lloyd Leisure Warrington shall ensure that the home venue is in a fit state for activity.

2.5 Those who are participating in ‘ The Clubs’ activities shall be aware of the dangers of the activity, and shall participate only if they wish to, in the full understanding of the nature of the activity.

2.6 Persons under the age of eighteen years shall not participate in club activity without permission from their parent(s) or legal guardian, who shall be aware of the nature of the activities of ‘The Club’.

2.7 All members of ‘The Club’ shall follow the general rules (updated November 2008) set by the Warrington and District Lawn Tennis Association (see WDLTA handbook)


3. Committee


3.1 The committee will deal with team selection and any problems or questions that arise during the season.

3.2 ‘The Club’ Committee will be made up of ‘The Club’ Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Treasurer, Ladies' Secretary, with input from the Men’s and Ladies Team Captains.


3.3 The Captain’s shall be selected by ‘The Club’ Secretaries.

3.4 The Committee of ‘The Club’ who shall be elected at the AGM, shall be:

Club Secretary
Deputy Club Secretary
Ladies' Secretary
Men’s Secretary
Mixed Secretary
and Treasurer.

3.5 All members interested in representing the Committee must make it known to the Committee in good time before the AGM.

3.6 Committee positions are held for a period of one year.

3.7 The Committee shall have absolute power to deal with any club issues.



4. Publicity and photography

4.1 Until informed otherwise, ‘The Club’ will assume that it has the right to use any still or moving images, and use the names of members on its website and publicity releases.

4.2 If anyone wishes for their names and images not to be used then they must see the committee immediately and let them know.


4.3 Those under the age of 18 shall need written consent from a parent/guardian in order for their pictures and names to be used.




5. Subs


5.1 Members of ‘The Club’ are required to pay subs of £2 at home matches which will pay for the tennis balls. £2 will be considered for away matches and may provide funding for following season in the form of a ‘kitty’.

5.2 The ‘kitty’ can be used to pay for team kit, the next season’s tennis balls, or an end of season party. Other suggestions can be sent to the committee and will be voted upon at the end of the season.
